Riding History Cont:

I got my first pony when I was 5 and just rode her around my parents farm until I was 9 and joined Cowra Pony Club.  My parents soon bought me a more competitive pony who took me to wins at the NSW Young Rider Dressage Championships.  I eventually grew out of my super pony and a dressage galloway replaced him.  As well as being a great dressage horse she showed talent for eventing and we reached Pre Novice when I was 14.  At this time I decided to buy a young horse to train and this was Talinga Cavalier.  Cav was an 8 year old when I got him and he had been tried in almost every discipline, hacking, polo, camp drafting just to name a few, before he was quickly sacked and put back in his paddock.  Eventing was obviously what he was meant for but it did take a lot of time to convince the wild stock horse that being ridden was just what happened every day, but now he is a superstar that everyone loves.  I now compete him 1 star eventing, medium dressage and C/D grade show jumping.  At the same time I also rode my Mum's old elementary dressage horse, but within a year or two we were at Inter 1.  Mayfield Cadence was a great horse to learn on but at only 15hh I needed something bigger that would take me further.  It was years of searching until finally in 2009 I bought Donnabella, and she was definately worth the wait.   So far we have progressed from Medium to PSG but she shows talent to make it all the way in dressage.  At the moment Talinga Cavalier and Donnabella are my main competition horses and I couldn't ask for better horses.
